This Red Dogtooth Calcite specimen from Hubei Daye Mine, China features beautifully formed, translucent dogtooth calcite points on a natural matrix with scattered specks of Pyrite. The rich red coloration is the result of Hematite (iron oxide) inclusions within the calcite points, creating the distinctive red coloration visible beneath the crystal surface. The calcite displays a beautiful flash and bright vitreous luster as it catches the light. Scattered Pyrite specks provide a beautiful contrast against the Calcite.
