I\'m honored to offer for sale this gorgeous painting by the renowned Leonard Lopp of Kalispell Montana! Titled: \"Autumn on the foot path of Glacier National Park.\" He lived between 1888-1974, moving to Montana in the 1930\'s working as an artist for the Glacier Park Hotel. He often commissioned pieces for tourists just based off of their experiences in the park, but he also went to a lot of his own favorite spots to paint his own memories. He was famous for using vibrant and warm colors especially on his Autumn pieces. It\'s a neat piece, especially if you already live close to the park! It\'s in fantastic condition, just has a little stain on the clear coat that I haven\'t tried to clean off. I was suggest having a professional do it, but it isn\'t very noticeable if you decide not to mess with it.
A little bit of history to help date this piece:
The Early Montana Window: 1936–1941 (Highest Likelihood)
During his first several years in Montana, Lopp worked directly as a staff artist for the Glacier National Park Hotel Company.
• The Context: He set up his studio and exhibited his landscape art every single summer inside the Many Glacier Hotel until World War II disrupted park tourism in 1941.
• The Clue: He painted \"on-demand\" for park tourists, often writing descriptive, poetic titles exactly like \"Autumn in the Foot Path...\" on the back so travelers would remember exactly where they were. If the handwriting is executed in a careful, sharp vintage pencil script, it heavily points to this early-40s hotel era.
