Rare Gerrman WW2 Artillery Wicker Basket Antique carrier For Sale

vintage military artillery shell transport basket, commonly produced in Europe during the World War I and World War II eras. These distinctively sturdy wicker carriers feature an internal wooden partition base and thick canvas side handles. They were specifically built from tightly woven willow branches rather than sheet metal to save strategic metals, absorb heavy transport vibrations, and prevent catastrophic sparks while moving sensitive explosive shell canisters in active combat zones. While long cataloged by collectors as a World War II German "Nr. 0830" field carrier, many matching surviving pieces were standardized equipment engineered for the Swiss Armed Forces to safely transport 10.5cm howitzer artillery charges. Today, military surplus collectors and interior decorators highly prize these rugged historical baskets, frequently repurposing them as durable home laundry hampers, umbrella stands, or rustic log bins
