An exceptional and rare piece of Danish Modern functional sculpture. Designed and handcrafted by the renowned Danish sculptor Ernst Henriksen at his workshop in Valby, near Copenhagen.
This iconic "Bull" was originally retailed at the prestigious Den Permanente—the famed Copenhagen gallery that showcased only the highest tier of Danish craftsmanship during the Mid-Century era.
Design & Utility:
The piece features a minimalist, organic form carved from solid teak with a rich, warm grain. The bull’s horns are solid brass and serve as the structural rails for the body. The "ribs" of the bull consist of 12 interlocking teak coasters (trivets), making this a clever and stunning solution for entertaining.
Provenance & Marks:
• Authenticity: Stamped with the burnt-in "Henriksen" mark and "Made in Denmark" on the interior of the rear legs.
• Material: Solid Teak and Brass.
• Condition: Excellent vintage condition.
The teak maintains a beautiful luster. There is a small, minor indent on the rear end (commensurate with age) that does not detract from the silhouette or display quality.
A must-have for serious collectors of Danish Teak or MCM barware.
Dimensions: Approx. 10" L x 6" H.
