Rare 45cm 17.7\" Vintage Japanese Buddhist Bell Stick Shumoku Wood Mallet 1940s For Sale

Rare vintage 1940s Japanese Wooden Buddhist Bell Striker / Mallet (Shumoku 撞木), a traditional ritual instrument used for striking large Japanese singing bowls (Orin / Keisu).

The enlarged tip structure allows the practitioner to strike the singing bowl evenly, producing a deep, rich, long-lasting, and resonant sound.
