Product Description: An Ultra-Rare Piece of Cinema History
This is an Artist's Proof Lithograph (10/50). For the elite classic horror collector, "Monster Kid," or silent film enthusiast, this is an incredible acquisition. While the standard edition of this lithograph is highly sought after, this particular piece is an incredibly scarce Artist's Proof (AP)—individually hand-numbered 10 out of an exclusive run of only 50 worldwide. Artist's proofs are traditionally reserved for the creator's personal archive and are prized by collectors for their early print quality and extreme rarity.
This magnificent 1997 hand-signed tribute by renowned Polish artist Anton Brzezinski is a stunning multi-character homage to the legendary "Man of a Thousand Faces," Lon Chaney Sr.
It contains the Ultimate Collector's Pedigree: Real Makeup in the Ink.
This is no ordinary art print. Through a historic collaboration, legendary Famous Monsters of Filmland editor and archivist Forrest J Ackerman provided authentic, certified personal makeup once used by Lon Chaney Sr. himself. Artist Anton Brzezinski carefully infused this actual makeup directly into the printing ink. This process created a deeply textured, proprietary halftone effect known as "Monster Depth"—meaning Chaney's actual cinematic DNA is embedded right into the artwork.
Elite Rarity: Hand-numbered 10/50 AP (Artist's Proof) in the lower margin.
Hand-Signed by the Artist, Anton Brzezinski and by Forrest J Ackerman. In addition, small original pencil sketches of a few of Chaney's most memorable characters are present, in the lower margin.
Authenticity Guaranteed for this iconic Imagery: It is a masterful collage featuring Chaney’s most famous roles, including The Phantom of the Opera and The Hunchback of Notre Dame.
Overall Condition: Excellent.....(Minor ink smudges along top left border and lower left border...These do NOT detract from the artwork...See photos.)
I received this Artist's Proof from Anton, in exactly the same condition that it appears, today.
Display History: Kept safely rolled in a smoke-free, climate-controlled environment ...Near flawless condition with no fading or appreciable wear. Please see photos for exact condition details.
