Rare 1910 Union Leader Red Gold Litho Lunch Pail Cut Plug Tobacco Tin For Sale

This rare 1910s \"Union Leader” litho lunch pail tobacco tin, measuring 4 1/8” x 7 3/4” x 5 18”, is in good condition with age related paint scratches, small dents, and chips. The hinge, latch and handle are in good working order. This very attractive bright red tin, features a gold American Bald Eagle with outspread wings. The tobacco was manufactured by the P. Lorillard Tobacco Company, Jersey City, NJ in Factory 21, District of Maryland.

This tin originally held cut-plug smoking tobacco, but these sturdy tins were commonly reused by workers and children as makeshift lunch pails once emptied.
