This 1910 postcard of the North Valley baseball team from North Valley, Wisconsin is a rare find. At the time of writing this, it is the only item of any kind of the North Valley baseball team for sale anywhere online.
North Valley is a rural area located near Milltown in Wisconsin, Polk County, near the Minnesota border. They often had a rivalry with nearby small town Centuria, Wisconsin. It's north east of Eureka Center.
Here is an excerpt from a book celebrating Centuria's 50th Anniversary:
"Twas in the spring of 1901 or 1902 that the first baseball game was played between Centuria and North Valley. Mr. Krinich was on the mound and Tom McMullen was on the receiving end. On first base was Dan Thompson and Al Peterson on second with Jim Steel doing..."
This postcard is a must-have for collectors who enjoy small town baseball teams from early 20th century, over 110 years ago.
