RPPC Photo Postcard 1904-1918 German Bisque & Man Doll Maker Toy Workshop For Sale

Up for sale is a highly unusual, genuinely fascinating Real Photo Postcard (RPPC) dating between 1904 and 1918 (verified by the four upward-pointing triangles on the AZO stamp box on the back).Instead of a typical family portrait, this photo appears to capture a turn-of-the-century doll maker or specialty toy artisan proudly showcasing his work. He is carefully presenting a massive, high-end antique German Bisque character doll dressed in an elaborate, multi-layered Edwardian christening gown. Why this piece stands out:

• The Workshop Setup: Rather than a polished photography studio with a painted landscape backdrop, this was shot against a crude, makeshift fabric sheet hung in what looks like a workshop or local shop. You can even see an unfinished wooden workbench or table just to the left.
• The Doll Detail: The doll is exceptionally large and lifelike, featuring the highly reflective porcelain-like sheen and molded hair details typical of premium German imports of the era (such as Armand Marseille or Simon & Halbig).
• Fascinating Backstory: The back features early handwritten pencil script reading: \"See Anna & Marsh Girl next older fack.\" It also bears a collector/archival inventory number (CIN-006) on a separate sleeve.

Condition:
The postcard is in fair vintage condition for its age with fantastic clarity and contrast. It has an authentic, honest patina with a minor vertical crease on the upper left border, a slight tear, and a neatly clipped bottom-right corner (as shown in the photos). This does not detract from the central image of the man or the doll.A truly wonderful cross-collectible piece perfect for anyone who loves early photography, antique doll history, or unique social history postcards!
