This listing pertains to an exceptionally rare photograph book published by R. J. Waters of San Francisco. Each page features a photo with a summary description on the opposing page. There are 18 photos in total. There are photos of the bay, Stow Lake, Fort Winfield Scott, Pt. Lobos, opium dens, Sutro Baths, Cliff House, the Claus Streckels Building, and Mission Dolores. The last page identifies the publisher of the book as R. J. Waters & Co. At least one of the photos also had a mark from R. J. Waters. I haven\'t tied down to date of publication at this point, and I\'ve found no others like it, but the book likely dates between the late 1890s to 1930s.
The cover and spine of the book are made of redwood. The redwood is etched along the edge. The cover reads Photographs of San Francisco. The spine has an interesting design using redwood.
The book itself is in pretty good shape and structurally sound. The photos appear to have faded with age. Some photos have faded more than others. The photo visible through the window of the cover appears to have faded the most and has a discoloration ring from the window. Please see photos and feel free to ask questions.
