In many years of collecting and seeing just about every type of bank/money bag there is, I've never seen one of these.
Extremely scarce. This is a US Silver canvas bag from Butte Montana, directly from the silver mines there.
The front is stamped "The First National Bank Butte Montana $100 SILVER". There is also a stamp at the top that appears to be the maker, a company from Syracuse NY (hard to read the name). The back is also stamped "$100 SILVER"
This bag would have most likely carried Morgan or Peace dollars or silver bullion.
It's a small size bag measuring about 9 x 5 inchesStaining to canvas. This bag was probably heavily used by the mines/the bank back in the day. See photos.
