Rare Nativity set from the Nicol Sayre Collection for Midwest of Cannon Falls (2006).
This beautiful set in Nicol Sayre\'s signature folk art style is deliberately distressed and designed to look
like a lovingly worn vintage Christmas folk art decoration. The figures are painted in pastel colors with mica glitter
on the roof of the wooden manger to add a bit of sparkle.
The set includes:
- Joseph
- Mary
- Baby Jesus swaddled in cotton lying in a little crepe paper lined cradle
- Angel that hangs above the Holy Family
- Wooden manger solidly built with a textured roof and folded paper star on the front. Manger measures approximately 13\" high x 9\" wide x 8\" deep. Manger alone weighs over 3.5 lbs
The figures are made of a papier mache/resin type material hand painted in lovely pastel shades. The folk art style figures are decorated with tinsel paper foil, crepe paper, folded printed paper, and cotton accents.
Good vintage condition with some chipped paint at the bottom of the robes worn by Mary and Joseph. Manger has a deliberately distressed finish. Original Nicol Sayre factory stickers. Please review all photos
