This unusual sculptural orb is an original Coach retail visual-merchandising display piece from the 2005 Patchwork collection.
I was a manager at the Coach store in Princeton, New Jersey, when this collection was introduced. This piece was supplied to the store as part of Coach's prescribed Patchwork visual-merchandising floorset and served as the centerpiece on the round display table featuring Patchwork handbags, wristlets and accessories.
When the floorset was retired, this display piece was made available to store management. I acquired it at that time and have personally owned and stored it since 2005.
This was not a consumer retail product and was never offered for sale in Coach stores.
The orb is constructed from numerous overlapping fixed discs/panels of Coach materials, including Signature jacquard, leather and suede in multiple colors and patterns. The panels are fixed and do not move. Its unusual construction allows the orb to rest on many different panels, giving it a dramatically different appearance depending on how it is positioned and rotated.
Approximate size: 5–6 inches across depending on orientation.

The piece remains in very good vintage condition for its age, with normal signs of age, display and storage. Please review all photographs carefully as they are part of the condition description.
