VERY RARE!
STAR FIGHTER arcade PCB two-board set, circa 1981, associated with Potomac Mortgage Company.
This is the MR-1A / MP-1A two-board stack with the installed vintage components, EPROMs, and interconnecting hardware shown in the photographs.
Of particular collector interest are the surviving period ROM labels, including the visible “SF 2 PMC” and other original marked ROMs. These markings are consistent with the Star Fighter / Potomac hardware configuration and add substantially to the historical interest of this board set.
The boards appear to be in good physical condition for their age, but they have NOT been tested for operation.
IMPORTANT — PLEASE READ BEFORE PURCHASING
This board set is being sold STRICTLY AS-IS, UNTESTED, WITH NO WARRANTY AND NO RETURNS.
Please review ALL photographs carefully before making your purchase.
The photographs are an important part of the description and show the exact board set you will receive.
Because this set has not been powered up or functionally tested, the buyer should ASSUME THAT IT DOES NOT CURRENTLY WORK and that it may require:
Component replacement
Socket or connector repair
EPROM or ROM verification
Capacitor replacement
Wiring or interconnect repair
Other parts and/or service
to make it fully functional.
DO NOT purchase this board set expecting a plug-and-play working game board.
It may work, it may partially work, or it may require significant repair. Its actual operational condition is unknown.
No attempt has been made to represent this as a working board set.
CONDITION
The board set is in good overall physical condition for vintage arcade hardware approximately 45 years old.
There may be normal age-related wear, oxidation, discoloration, dust, socket wear, component aging, solder deterioration, previous repairs, missing or defective components, or other issues that cannot be determined through visual inspection alone.
Please study the photographs closely for:
PLEASE NOTE: There is an empty socket/expansion position on the MP-1A board, clearly shown in the photographs. I do not know whether this position was intentionally unused in this Star Fighter configuration or whether an additional IC, ROM assembly, or daughterboard is missing. Buyer should assume the board set may be incomplete and may require additional parts in addition to troubleshooting and repair.
What you see in the photographs is what you are purchasing.
If a component, cable, connector, part, or accessory is not clearly shown in the photos, do not assume that it is included.
INCLUDED
Nothing beyond what is shown in the photographs is guaranteed to be included.
