Prehistoric Casas Grandes Ramos Polychrome Hooded Effigy Jar - 8.5\" D x 5.25\" H For Sale

Offering a prehistoric Casas Grandes Ramos Polychrome Hooded Human Effigy Jar. The jar measures 8.5\" in diameter and about 5.25\" high. The jar is unbroken and has not been reconstructed in any way, although, it has several blemishes, including exfoliation of some ceramic surfaces on the effigy face, scrape marks on the body and a 1.2\" linear hole, possibly a shovel mark, cut into the body. This is an very nice example. Paint is bold. Mouth is \"pierced\" through ceramic wall to form an open mouth. Jar body and face are decorated with typical geometric style of prehistoric Ramos Polychrome pottery.
