Origin
- Original luggage label from the Pousada de S. Lourenço in Manteigas, high in the Serra da Estrela mountains of central Portugal, part of Portugal's state-run pousada inn mid-century oval design in teal, black, and yellow featuring a stylized ibex, or Iberian wild goat, alongside a star motif, with the pousada name and mountain location lettered around the border in a modern sans-serif.
Provenance and Exchange Markings
- The reverse, visible in mirror image through the paper, carries a stamp for Lorenzo Cardona Cifuentes of Barcelona and a stamp for Mário of Rua da Palma, Lisboa. This kind of cross-border correspondence was typical of the hotel label exchange network active among European collectors through the mid-20th century, familiar ground for stamp and cinderella overall with light edge wear consistent with age. The bold colors of the front design remain vivid, and reverse text, while mirrored through the paper, is legible.
