A 5.5x3.5" vintage half tone photo postcard from the estate of a vintage automobile postcard collector. This was part of a huge collection of antique postcards.

This advertising postcard shows the interior machine shop of the Post Garage Co., Inc., in Middletown, New York, during the early automobile era. The caption at the top reads \'A Corner of the Shop.\' The long, window-lined workshop is filled with early brass-era automobiles under repair, a chassis with an exposed four-cylinder engine mounted on a wooden stand in the foreground, and a lengthy workbench along the right wall crowded with tools, oil cans, and equipment. Industrial pendant lamps hang from the ceiling and a wood barrel and parts crate marked \'POST GARAGE CO\' add to the authentic period detail.
The vehicles appear to be teens-era touring cars with wooden artillery wheels and open bodies, typical of American automobiles built around 1912 to 1918. Post Garage Co. billed itself as the largest and most complete garage in southeastern New York, offering a fully equipped machine shop and day and night taxi service. This is a wonderful piece of early automotive and Middletown business history that will appeal to garage memorabilia collectors, automobilia enthusiasts, and local New York historians alike.
