This is a charming book of poems published as an offprint to The Katonah Times (Katonah, NY) 1897-1911. The poems are meditations on subjects such as a visit to Lake Mohegan, Tobacco, Artillery Units in New York, Christmas, and Masonry, among others. The copy is clean, tight, in near fine condition. It is bound in publisher's maroon cloth with cover in gilt tooled title with stylized borders and title. The spine is lightly faded, but all is legible. It is also inscribed by the author on preliminary leaf, "Compliments to Nathanial Hancock from his friend J and G Wood, Brewster, N.Y. Feb 16th 1901". The book is 18 cm. This small chapbook is filled with local Hudson Valley, New York history and is perfect for the collector of New York related history and poetry.
