Vintage Plumb Permabond single-bit chopping axe with its original red-painted wooden handle and black factory-finished head. A well-preserved example that appears unused or barely used, showing very little evidence of actual chopping.
The steel head retains much of its original black factory finish, with a clean cutting edge showing minimal wear. The original red Permabond material remains visible in the eye. The wooden handle retains its distinctive red paint, with some paint loss and storage wear.
There is adhesive residue remaining on the axe head from an original paper label that is no longer present. A portion of the original factory safety label remains attached to the handle.
Manufactured by Plumb, USA. Estimated production period is the 1960s–1970s.

CONDITION
Vintage condition, appearing unused or barely used. The head retains much of its original black finish with minor surface oxidation, storage marks, and adhesive residue from the original paper label. The cutting edge shows very little evidence of use.
The original red-painted wooden handle has areas of paint loss, scratches, and storage wear. The Permabond eye filling remains in place.
Overall, a well-preserved vintage axe retaining much of its original factory appearance.
