It is marked \"FOX\'S FRED C BRUEL TOOL WORKS PATENTED 1921 BRIDGEPORT, CONN, USA\" as shown on the blade.

The longest blade is graduated in 8ths on one side, otherwise the blades are not graduated. Overall length of the blade that would be the vertical leg of the \"4\" is not quite 9-11/16\". Overall length of the leg with two 45 degree ends is about 9-13/16\".

Philo Fox of Bridgeport, Connecticut, was granted patent 331,047, on Nov 24, 1885, for his \"figure 4\" try and miter square.

Richard Bruel was granted patent 768,324, on August 23, 1904, for improvements to the Fox square. And then Richard Bruel was granted patents 1,374,815 and 1,374,816, both on April 12, 1921, for further improvements to the square.

Condition is fair to good, with some scattered little spots of pitting and quite a few scratches mostly on the back or non-logo side. Both of the long blades have a modest bow or wiggle in the middle if you sight down the upper edge.

USPS POSTAGE RATE INCREASES: I use the Post Office for everything, and yes, the shipping charges just keep going up and up. The Post Office now has several prices increases during each year, raising a few things but not everything at each increase. And they now raise their rates during the Holidays, which means early October to late January. Their big increases are in January, timed to start at the end of the Holiday rates, and this year is no exception. And it\'s not just the postage rates, the insurance charges and the delivery signature charges have also gone up. There is now a surcharge for Priority Mail packages over 20\" long, and another for Priority Mail packages over 30\" long, because those longer packages won\'t fit in their automatic machines. And the Post Office has discontinued the Regional Flat Rate boxes, which were often less expensive for certain sizes and weights.I try to pick the best shipping option for each listing, based both on what is the least expensive and on what I think is needed to protect the item. If the value is $250 or over, requires your signature at delivery for the buyer and seller protections to be in effect.

SALES TAX: Interstate sales tax is now the reality on all the major selling websites including .
