Description: up for sale is a matched pair of classic, genuine USGI Signal Corps Model EE-8-B-GY military field telephones. Both units are physically complete and present an excellent restoration opportunity for a militaria collector, amateur radio enthusiast, or historical reenactor.

What's Included:
- (2) EE-8-B-GY Field Telephone units housed in original OD green canvas carrying cases.
- (2) Matching TS-9 handsets with integrated push-to-talk momentary switches.
- Original hand-crank magneto handles.
Detailed Technical & Bench-Test Notes:
We have partially bench-tested both units together using local battery power (2x D-cells per unit) with the following results:
- Unit 1 (Partially Functional): Local battery circuit is operational. Side-tone draws correctly, and the handset push-to-talk (PTT) switch and switchhook are fully functional. The handset casing is free of cracks. The handset cord is physically stiff with expected rubber insulation breaks from age but maintains continuity. When cranked, the internal magneto successfully generates ~35 VAC; the crank mechanism is currently very stiff, which limits cranking speed and output voltage.
- Unit 2 (Cosmetic & Project Match): Cosmetically identical and physically complete. The internal electronics, handsets, and switches mirror Unit 1. However, the hand-crank magneto mechanism is currently frozen/stuck and will require degreasing and lubrication to break free.
- Intercom Test: When hardwired together via the line terminals, the two units successfully transmit voice communication, though audio is currently barely audible/faint.
Cosmetic Condition:
Both phones are remarkably clean given their age and history. There are minor signs of long-term storage wear and typical superficial oxidation/hazing on the top-side plastic surfaces. The canvas bags are structurally intact, and the rubber vestibule parts remain pliable with no rot.Sold strictly as-is for parts, repair, or a rewarding winter restoration project to bring them back to full field-operational specifications!
