This set was unearthed while a crew was digging sand in a quarryoutside of Shenandoah in Page County, Iowa and they used the sand to make abeach at a small fishing lake at Rapp Park. In time the rain washed these tothe surface just enough that they were partially visible. While fishing I wasthe lucky one to find them barely exposed enough that I knew they were not justcommon rocks.
The sand where I found them was from a nearby Quarry whereduring excavating a sand pit they found the complete fossilized skeleton of alarge Woolly Mammoth which is on display at the University of Nebraska Museumin Lincoln, Nebraska. Where professionals and College students reconstructed aLife size reproduction from the fossilized skeleton. Google Wooly Mammoth inLincoln, Nebraska and see the display which is outside the museum.
