An authentic vintage signed photograph of Marion Price Daniel Sr. (1910–1988). Daniel holds one of the most distinguished records in Texas political history, having served in top leadership roles in all three branches of state and federal government: Speaker of the Texas House of Representatives, Texas Attorney General (1947–1953), U.S. Senator from Texas (1953–1957), 38th Governor of Texas (1957–1963), and Associate Justice of the Texas Supreme Court (1971–1978).
In his federal career, Senator Daniel notably authored the Tidelands legislation (Submerged Lands Act of 1953) securing valuable offshore mineral rights for the state of Texas, and served as Director of the Office of Emergency Preparedness under President Lyndon B. Johnson.
