Arthur C. Begay was born in New Mexico and primarily lived in Shiprock, New Mexico on the Navajo Reservation that spans the three states of New Mexico, Arizona, and Utah.
He studied with with the famed \"Saturday Evening Post\" artist Norman Rockwell. Rockwell\'s influence can be seen in Begay\'s naturalistic, but slightly comic, rendition of hunting.
Arthur C Begay\'s work is in the Smithsonian\'s National Museum of the American Indian and the Oklahoma State Univeristy Museum of Art.
