Original 1876 U.S. Centennial International Exhibition Phila Package Ticket For Sale

This is definitely a great find for a Collector of Historical, World's Fair, and/or Philadelphia memorabilia!I found this in my Grandfather's files which would have been kept from his Father's memorabilia, making this a ticket collected by my Great Grandfather in 1876, who owned a business in Philadelphia.These tickets were part of the first official World's Fair in the United States, held to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence.This is a "Package Ticket" which is a paper ticket featuring text "United States International Exhibition Philadelphia," "Fifty cents," "Admit the Bearer," "1776-1876," and the signature of David G. Yates, the General Manager of the Department of Admissions. They were printed by the Philadelphia Bank Note Company.The ticket granted the bearer admission for the duration of the fair, which ran from May 10 to November 10, 1876.The exhibition showcased significant technological advancements, industrial products, and artistic achievements from around the world.
