Original 1973 Illinois American Revolution Bicentennial commemorative medal produced by The Lincoln Mint of Chicago as the first issue in Illinois' Bicentennial medal series.
One side depicts Chief Illiniwek, while the opposite side features the Kaskaskia State Capitol (1818–1820). The medal is inscribed:
“OFFICIAL 1973 ILLINOIS MEDALLION – UNITED STATES BICENTENNIAL 1776–1976.”
This example is especially nice because it retains its original Lincoln Mint presentation folder/card, including the Illinois Bicentennial Commission message signed in print by Chairman Andrew McNally. The original envelope marked “1973” is also included.

Vintage pre-owned condition. Medal displays dark bronze/brown toning and surface marks consistent with age. Original presentation folder shows age-related handling, discoloration and edge/corner wear. Envelope also shows age and storage wear.
