Hard to find pair of Nuart bronzed art metal bookends from 1924 depicting Abraham Lincoln sitting in a throne-like chair draped with the American flag.
Each Lincoln bookend is identical, cast with excellent sculptural detail, from Lincoln\'s face to the U.S. flag that drapes his Egyptian revival styled throne. The front of the base is inscribed \"LINCOLN\", and the back is embossed \"© 1924\" and near the middle \"© 1926 B.B. INC.\" Not sure what BB Inc was, but these are definitely the Nuart creations. The undersides are covered in faded green felt. These old Lincoln bookends are in very good shape with their lush bronzed patina intact with just a few small spots of finish wear. One bookend has a small crack along his lapel (see last photo).
Each stands 6.5\" tall by 4\" wide by 5.5\" deep, and each weighs 2.75 lbs. apiece.
These are one of the most desirable Nuart creations and one of the best sets of Lincoln bookends. Don\'t sit this one out - make them yours.
