The items are a Nikko 500th Anniversary Columbus 7-inch plate and two 3-inch cups which were made to commemorate the 1492 discovery of North America. Both were produced in Japan by Nikko during the early 1990s (between 1990 and 1994). They feature scenes of Columbus\'s ships, maps, weather images, and decorative borders.
