Striking and unusually sculptural vintage art pottery vase by Nielsen\'s Extraordinary Ceramics, California.
The vase is hand signed “Nielsen 91”, dating it to 1991.
This substantial piece has an exceptionally unusual flattened, pillow-like form measuring approximately 9 inches across, while the base is only approximately 2¼ inches deep.
The highly reflective metallic surface displays dramatic areas of bronze/gold, blue, turquoise, violet, purple and green iridescence. Its appearance changes considerably depending on the lighting and viewing angle, making it a particularly striking display piece.
