Native Silver Wires, Acanthite, etc.
San Martín Mine, San Martín-Sabinas District, San Martín, Sombrerete Municipality, Zacatecas, Mexico
~ 7 x 4 x 4 cm, 180.75 grams
This is a rich ore specimen of silver, silver sulfides, etc., with tangled nests of silver wires on all sides. Very dense, contains a lot of silver. Some void spaces in the rock were naturally lined with yellow-orange oxides (see last photo, in direct sunlight). In person you can see that ~every void space was filled with silver wires. Great example of a rich silver ore - this piece is a lot of fun with magnification.
I picked this one up at a local AZ mineral show a few years ago - it came with a small unattributed label.
