NOS Pep Boys \"Pure Gold\" Motor Oil 1 Quart Can, UNOPENED For Sale

Rare, NOS 1 quart can of Pep Boys “Pure Gold” SAE 40 Motor Oil. Featuring the classic Pep Boys founders Manny, Moe & Jack logo in cartoon form. This logo version still has Manny chomping on a cigar. Copyright 1933 by the Pep Boys, Phila PA.

This unused, 1 quart can is constructed with a reinforced cardboard body and metal lids top and bottom, as was customary after metal usage in consumer products became more scarce during WWII. This particular can was most likely manufactured between 1942 and 1954. This can is like new and in near mint condition. Small paint chipping from storage wear, does not detract from appearance or vivid colors of this can. See pictures to reference the can’s condition. No rust and no dents! A prized addition to any gas and oil advertising collection, with the same 8 color lithograph design previously used on the tin-litho Pep Boys oil cans introduced in 1933.
