Beautiful hand-carved Bethlehem olive wood Nativity sculpture signed by renowned Bethlehem artist Munir Twemeh. This substantial religious artwork depicts the Holy Family and Baby Jesus, with Joseph holding a lantern and Mary beside the manger.
Munir Twemeh is a recognized Bethlehem olive wood artist who has been presented as a diplomatic gift. A carved olive wood Nativity bearing his signed dedication was given to President Barack Obama by the Mayor of Bethlehem and is now part of the Barack Obama Presidential Libarys collection of head of state gifts.
This sculpture displays exceptional carving throughout the faces, clothing, lantern, manger and figures. The natural grain and contrasting coloration of the olive wood are particularly striking and make the piece unique.
The underside is hand signed “Munir Twemeh” and also bears an additional signature or artist’s mark. An older $1,399.00 price sticker remains attached to the bottom.
This is a large, substantial display piece with beautiful natural olive wood figuring and intricate hand-carved detail. It appears to be in very good pre-owned condition overall. Please review all photographs carefully, as they show the exact sculpture being offered and form part of the condition description. Natural grain, coloration and variations in the olive wood are inherent to the material.
An impressive signed example of Bethlehem olive wood craftsmanship and a wonderful piece for collectors of Munir Twemeh, Holy Land art, Christian religious art, Nativity scenes and hand-carved olive wood sculpture.
The sculpture will be carefully and securely packaged for shipping.
