This is a Montblanc No.121 Black fountain pen.
The No.121 is a vintage Montblanc model produced around the 1970s. It follows the design lineage of Montblanc’s two-digit models from the 1960s and comes from the period when the company transitioned to three-digit model numbers. It features a slim, streamlined silhouette and a classic design.
This model features a glossy black body accented with gold-colored trim on the clip and rings. The cap is decorated with a distinctive mountain-shaped gold-colored center ring, giving the pen an elegant appearance characteristic of Montblanc’s higher-end models of the period. It has a refined and lightweight vintage character that is quite different from the modern Meisterstück series.
The nib is made of 18K gold.
The nib size is EF (Extra Fine), making it suitable for writing small characters, taking notes in planners, and other situations where a fine line is preferred. The nib also offers the pleasant flexibility and writing feel associated with vintage Montblanc fountain pens.
The pen uses a piston filling system. By turning the piston knob at the end of the barrel, ink can be drawn directly from an ink bottle. The barrel also features an ink window that allows you to check the remaining ink level.
The condition is Excellent. As this is a vintage item, there are very slight signs of storage and use, such as minor surface scratches. However, there are no noticeable major scratches, cracks, chips, or other significant damage, and the pen remains in very clean condition considering its age. The piston filling mechanism operates properly, and the pen writes without issue. Please check the photos for detailed condition.
