What is doujinshi?Doujinshi are indie / self-published print media most often in the form of manga, novels, or artbooks. Most doujinshi are derivative works of popular franchises produced without license from the original copyright holders (except in certain unique cases), though sometimes doujinshi are entirely original stories. Authors / artists that produce and sell doujinshi do so as a circle, a group of artists / authors that produce doujin works (though sometimes circles can be one-person operations).Doujinshi often have very few copies produced depending on the popularity of the circle. Most doujinshi are only ever briefly sold at annual convention events such as Comiket (Comic Market). Due to the nature of how doujinshi is produced and distributed it can sometimes be extremely difficult to track down any specific book. When copies that surface sell they may not surface again for years, and this is especially so for copies that surface outside of Japan!The content contained within doujinshi can range widely!Please refer to our "Content Rating" section above to get an idea of the age range this book is intended for, and please feel free to ask us clarifying questions if you have any concerns.
