Modified Stanley No 48 Plane Body For Parts / Dedicated Groove Cutter Only For Sale

Up for sale is a vintage Stanley No. 48 plane body that has been modified by a previous owner.PLEASE READ BEFORE BUYING: The internal side-pivot cross-pin assembly inside the throat has been permanently removed/ground away, meaning a swinging fence can no longer be attached to this body. Additionally, the left side is fitted with an incorrect, bulky right-side style thumbscrew lever cap instead of the flat, low-profile flush cap. This plane is being sold strictly AS-IS for parts, a restoration donor, or to use as a dedicated single-purpose grooving plane. The cast iron body, wooden tote handle, right-side lever cap, and depth adjustment rod are intact. Blades/cutters are included as shown. Please view all photos closely to see the modifications before purchasing.
