Beautiful vintage hand-tooled leather wallet believed to date from the late 1940s–1950s, featuring classic Hawaiian souvenir imagery. Both exterior sides display detailed hand-tooled island scenes with palm trees, shoreline, mountains, and dolphins, with “Hawaii” tooled into the leather.
While the design reflects traditional mid-century Hawaiian tourist souvenirs, the interior is stamped “Made in Morocco,” indicating overseas production for the souvenir trade—common during this era, particularly for finely crafted leather goods.
This is a family-owned estate item, originally belonging to my grandmother. My grandparents traveled to Hawaii regularly over many years and collected meaningful keepsakes during their trips. This wallet has remained in the family since its original purchase.
Crafted from genuine leather with visible hand workmanship, it shows a rich natural patina and age-related wear consistent with vintage use. Interior features card slots and a leather tab closure. A wonderful example of mid-century souvenir leatherwork and travel ephemera.
