Antique RPPC – Red Bridge, P&M Street Railway, Meyersdale, PA
Real photo postcard captioned \"Red Bridge P&M Street Ry. Car Meyersdale Pa.\" in the negative, showing a trolley car crossing a steel through-truss bridge. The car\'s front end and windows are framed by the bridge\'s riveted verticals and diagonal bracing, with the trolley pole up to the overhead wire, a lone figure standing on the bridge deck ahead of the car, and the water below reflecting the span. The P&M was the Pennsylvania & Maryland Street Railway Company, a small interurban line connecting Salisbury, Meyersdale, and Garrett in Somerset County that operated from 1908 to 1927. Unused/unposted, on AZO paper with all four stamp box triangles pointing up, circa 1908–1918, with \"Meyersdale PA\" penciled on the back.
A great piece for collectors of Meyersdale and Somerset County topographical postcards, Pennsylvania interurban and trolley history, or early bridge views.
