According to the original historical information card, this figurine was inspired by an antique cotton Santa Claus handkerchief discovered by Roger Cooke of Florence, South Carolina, during the July 1998 Memories of Santa convention in Asheville, North Carolina.
The artwork on the original handkerchief was derived from illustrations by renowned American cartoonist Thomas Nast, whose depictions helped shape the familiar image of Santa Claus.
The card also describes a later Santa Claus rag doll produced by the E.S. Peck Company of Brooklyn, New York, bearing a strong resemblance to the original handkerchief design.
This collectible figurine recreates that charming historical interpretation of Santa Claus.
