A Moment in Fashion History
Nurse costumes were a favorite of 1950s girls, when nursing was one of the most admired careers open to women. This pattern mirrors the real uniform of the era: white dress, starched cap with a black band, and a navy cape lined in red. A partial Stewart & Co., Baltimore retailer stamp on the front recalls the department store where it was first sold.
