Master Yoshio Ohtani(1936- ) sosaku kokeshi, Gunma Prefecture, Japan.
A strikingly beautiful exclusive vintage kokeshi by the iconic sosaku master Yoshio Ohtani, from his \"Satomusume\" series. Satomusumetranslates fromJapanese as\"village daughter\"or \"village girl.\" She has a richly decorated kimono, patterned in colors and motifs of turning leaves in the Fall. The kimono is intricately decorated using a variety of techniques, including carving and woodburning -- the artwork is simply stunning!
This kokeshi figurine was purchased from an arts and crafts dealer. It appears previously unused. The colors show no fading, despite the vintage age. It comes with the original title plaque. Would satisfy the discerning collector.
