A classic Colorado mineral specimen featuring a prominent Manebach-twinned microcline crystal accompanied by cleavelandite and smoky quartz from Crystal Peak, Teller County, Colorado.
The centerpiece is the large blocky microcline twin, displaying a subtle pale green to blue-green coloration along with the characteristic form that makes Manebach twins particularly appealing to feldspar and locality collectors. Additional microcline crystals occur throughout the specimen, interspersed with bladed to platy cleavelandite and contrasting smoky quartz crystals. The combination gives this compact specimen quite a bit to explore from different angles.
The specimen retains two accompanying labels, including a handwritten Bill Hayward collection label dated 1993 identifying it as a Manebach twin microcline with albite from the Lower Ridge Dike at Crystal Peak, Colorado. A more recent Made of Minerals / Jesse Sansevere Collection label further identifies the specimen as microcline (Manebach twin) with cleavelandite and quartz from Crystal Peak, Teller County, Colorado, and records the earlier Bill Hayward provenance. Both labels shown will accompany the specimen.
