Manas Playing Cards is a series of seven poker decks released as mystery decks around the Chinese New Year in 2024 by King Star Playing Card Company. The name "Manas" comes from the Buddhist concept of "manas-vijnana", which perpetuates attachment to a false sense of self through constant activity. This sustains the cycle of rebirth and suffering found in the histories of civilizations. The decks in this series explore creation, destruction, and the renewal of civilizations using motifs of worship/deification of nature/the unknown; the rise, fall, and restoration of cultures; and the liberation and transcendence of spirits.
The Frost deck symbolizes the profound and boundless universe, with its blue stars and endless black void. Limited to 3000 decks and printed on 280gsm black-core card stock, the Frost edition features an anime-like 2D design style, with starry ribbons and pips & indices designed to depict flowing cosmic energy.
