Antique & Vintage Photographs EST. 1998 Maharaja Sawai Man Singh II Jaipur India Royalty Portrait 1920s Negative
This is a glass negative photograph that is 6¾ x 4¾ inches (170x120mm).
It shows a formal studio portrait of a young boy, Sawai Man Singh II, the last ruling Maharaja of Jaipur State. He is posed looking directly at the camera, wearing an ornate, light-coloured tunic (achkan or sherwani) with a sash around his waist. He wears a turban (pagri) adorned with a prominent jewelled ornament (sarpech) at the front. The setting is a plain studio backdrop.
I have shown the negative as a positive image to let you see what it will look like when printed but, the item I am selling is just the glass negative.
