This spectacular late 1990s / early 2000s piece features a mirror-shine chrome lantern housing. It perfectly bridges the gap between classic 1970s oil rain lamps and thermal lava lamps. Because it was never used, the chrome is completely pristine, and the original factory safety warning label on the base remains perfectly intact.DUAL-ACTION MECHANISM:
- Outer Rain Effect: An internal base pump sends mineral oil up to the top canopy, cascading down the vertical monofilament lines to simulate a rain shower.
- Central Core: Powered by a traditional thermal glitter lava lamp setup. The incandescent light bulb in the base supplies the heat necessary to cleanly activate the fluid and glitter motion inside the central teal/aqua cylinder. No noisy internal motors inside the glass tube—just classic, silent thermal convection.CONDITION REPORT:
- 100% NEVER FILLED: Mineral oil has NEVER been run through this unit. The reservoir, and rain lines are bone-dry, factory-clean, and free of any sticky residue, clogs, dust, or old oil yellowing.
- Fully Functional: The electronics were briefly tested to verify performance. The motor runs beautifully and quietly, and the base light illuminates instantly.
- Fluid Quality: The central teal-blue glitter cylinder is remarkably clear with vibrant color.
- Chrome Finish: Factory-fresh mirror finish with zero rust or pitting.
- Power: Includes a replacement power supply.
I took this to a vintage repair shop to make sure to get the right power supply so it\'s been looked over and tested as running (you can hear the pump) but since it\'s never been used with oil it is sold as is.
