MID 19TH CENTURY WELSH? MOTIF & VERSE SAMPLER BY ANIE ANYAN LISHAM AGED 8 - 1872 For Sale

Mid 19th century sampler by Anie Anyan Lisham aged 8 - 1872. Worked in wool on even weave gauze, this sampler, almost certainly Welsh, is just delightful with fine quality stitch work throughout, the moreso when one considers Anie Anyan was just eight years old when she completed it. The upper section of the gauze is stitched with the following verse which has a flower, tree, floral motif and beehive to the right and finished with Anie Anyan's details and the date of 1872

The middle section of the gauze contains a wonderful image of a seated dog with a floral motif above his back, a flower bowl, diamond, dog and flower to his left and right and a bird on a blossom branch beneath him flanked by a crown and stag standing on a hillock. The lower section of the linen is stitched with a large central flower bowl with a heart, diamond and two birds on a fruit tree to either side of its contents and a bird and fruit basket to each side of the bowl itself. The whole piece is then surrounded by a deep floral border which in turn is surrounded by a red undulating border.
The gauze has overall discolouration consistent with its age with four slightly darker vertical lines running down at equal distances and probably from where the sampler has been over a stretcher at some point of time.I KNEW THE SAMPLER HAD NO GLASS WHEN I BOUGHT THE SAMPLER BUT I HAD TO HAVE IT AS IT'S JUST SO BEAUTIFUL! THE FRAME DOES HOWEVER, HAVE A LATER BACKING PAPER.As such, I'm not able to see the reverse of the sampler, but the colours of the wool appear good though they are likely to have mellowed to some extent over the years. There is also minor bleeding to some of the dark stitch work. Thesampler is contained within its seemingly original oak frame which is in good condition with the odd light scratch and scuff mark commensurate with its age.
PLEASE NOTE - This is a large piece measuring 25" x 25" (sight size) and 27" x 27" including the frame.
I WOULD ALSO LIKE TO MENTION THAT I HAVE USED A RELATIVELY NEW CAMERA TO TAKE THESE PHOTOGRAPHS AND I AM STRUGGLING WITH THE COLOUR BALANCE (something I'm STILL continuing to work on!!) AS SUCH, SOME OF MY PHOTOS APPEAR SOMEWHAT DARK OR HAVE A SLIGHTLY FIERY OR YELLOWISH LOOK TO THEM WHICH IS NOT THE CASE, IT'S JUST MY INCOMPETENCE!
