A striking, one-of-a-kind mid-century style relief panel: a hand-carved and glossy-painted standing female nude, seen from behind with her arms raised to her hair, set against a speckled green field with a flowering shrub and a decorative balustrade. The sculpted black hair, high-gloss finish and bold color give it real wall presence in a sturdy oak frame. It comes with a handwritten family note about its origin (see below). Please note this is an artistic nude.

• Carved relief panel with glossy painted/enameled finish; the figure and hair are raised from the background
• Subject: standing female nude, rear view, arms raised, with textured black hair, a painted flowering bush and a carved balustrade
• Colors: speckled green background, tan/peach figure, black hair, pink and red blossoms, sage and gold balustrade
• Medium appears to be carved wood (plywood-type back); finish and exact materials not verified
• Oak frame with stepped profile; hanging wire and brackets on the back
• Approx. 30 in. tall x 16 in. wide including frame (from tape photos; please verify)
• Provenance: a handwritten note from the seller's family says the carving is "supposedly" by Jack Stanley, who died in the early 1960s. This is family lore and has not been verified; no signature was found on the front
• A sealed envelope taped to the back is marked "Artist plaque enclosed. To the buyer." It has not been opened by us and its contents are not described
• Includes the handwritten note and a snapshot photo shown in the pictures
Condition Notes
• Vintage and used condition with honest wear; sold as-is
• Fine crack lines in the finish on the lower figure, visible on the thigh and leg area, plus a few small marks and scuffs
• Light scratches and minor dings in the glossy surface; small spot near the upper right of the panel
• The panel's glossy surface shows reflections in the photos; please see all close-ups
• Frame has wear, small chips and darker finish in spots, plus the remains of a yellowed tape or label on the lower front frame
• Back shows flaking white paint along the edges, a white sticker label, tape residue and a loose wire hanger
• Not cleaned or restored by us
