This handcrafted and sealed container has subtle slopes of the bowl inward and down and pedestal outward and down. It is surprisingly dense and heavy for its size so that it can be used with heavier material. The coloring is also subtle and complements any other color, mass or texture used. It was found in a local estate sale and used extensively for its adaptability. We have found and enjoyed many ikebana containers while in Japan and our travels throughout the mainland and return to the Islands. They are displayed at home, used for demonstrations and presented at exhibitions.
