BACKGROUND: Extract from the Reconstructed Constitution of the State of Louisiana with Portraits of the Distinguished Members of Convention & Assembly A.D. 1868 is a historiclithographcelebrating the landmark 1868 Louisiana Constitutional Convention. It visually commemorates the state\'s first interracially written constitution, which was among the most progressive and radical in the former Confederacy. Features a full-length portrait of Oscar J. Dunn (Louisiana\'s first Black Lieutenant Governor) seated at a desk, surrounded by head-and-shoulders portraits of African American delegates to the 1868 Constitutional Convention.Because the lithograph was published as a broadside (12\" x15\"), a smaller CDV photograph (2.5 x 4\") was also circulatedof theportraits. Both the lithograph and photograph versions of this portrait are exceptionally rare with less than 4 examples known to still exist.
