Lorna, the Jungle Girl #8 was published by Atlas Comics (the 1950s predecessor to Marvel Comics) in July 1954. Scripted by Don Rico with artwork by Werner Roth, this issue functions as an anthology featuring multiple short jungle adventure stories.\"The Ghost Walked at Midnight!\" (Lead Story)When Lorna hears a distressed cry from a nearby village, she rushes over and discovers that Baku—the nephew of the local tribal chief and her close friend, M\'Tuba—has been attacked by an alleged ghost. According to severe tribal law, Chief M\'Tuba is held directly accountable for any deaths caused by this specter on his watch. Capitalizing on the chaos, M\'Tuba\'s power-hungry sister-in-law rallies the tribespeople to depose M\'Tuba so that Baku can take over leadership.Lorna manages to temporarily delay the coup, asking for a chance to investigate. She ventures deep into the jungle to recruit the aid of her ally, Agu the Giant Ape. While she is gone, the \"ghost\" strikes another villager, amplifying demands for M\'Tuba\'s removal. Lorna returns to the village with Agu and stands guard. When the glowing entity reappears and attacks, Agu grabs the specter. Lorna commands the ape to drop it, exposing the \"ghost\" as Baku himself covered in luminescent paint. Demasked, the sister-in-law confesses that the entire haunting was a staged hoax to overthrow Chief M\'Tuba. = =+BONUS: TWO (2) More Issues of :Gloomcookie Issue # 9 dated 2001 Amaze SLG Graphics.
