Beautiful large pair of antique 19th Century Victorian oil on canvas landscape paintings in gorgeous matching antique deep-set Hudson River/Aesthetic Movement style gilt frames! Fairly large size with frames that measure 38 1/2\" by 29 1/8\" and a depth of about 3 1/2\"; Sight measures 29 1/8\" by 19 1/2\". Finely executed with still vibrant colors depicting an autumn waterfall scene and a pine forest. Both paintings are signed at bottom right (see pics) but cannot make out artist signatures - One looks like \"H Wilmeth\" and the other \"N Hayslip Wilmeth\".
Age related wear, but overall, in very nice antique condition. Both paintings display very well, especially when presented in the right light. Some very minor craquelure and some visible stretcher marks. Possible age-related toning and may benefit from a light professional cleaning. Frames with some minor gesso loss, craquelure and age-related wear. A couple of the corner rosettes are slightly loose.
Honestly, these paintings presented together are a show-stopper and would look great hanging in your restored Victorian parlor!
